The importance of pre-employment checks
The latest BBC drama, ‘Trust Me’, about a nurse posing as an A&E doctor is based on the experiences of writer Dan Sefton, who also works as a doctor. He said that he was inspired to write the story after several cases of people pretending to be doctors came to light.
When engaging in a recruitment process, employers are often so keen to choose the right person in a short time-frame that reference checks are overlooked. To ensure that a candidate has not lied about their qualifications or ability, reference checks are essential and it is also worth undertaking other pre-employment checks too. The checks should be relevant to the role and can include verification of qualifications and employment history, criminal records checks and credit checks.
At hr inspire we can guide you through this process with help from our Recruitment team and our HR consultants who can conduct the pre-employment checks. Please contact on us on 01296 325720 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
