______________

Welcome! This week our social media spotlight is shining on the Legal side of People Management – read on for some snippets on how to tackle these challenges.

Racism

Racism continues to take place in the workplace, often subconsciously. Training in unconscious bias can help remove it. At hr inspire, we provide expert Training to help you solve any unwanted issues.

Discrimination

Many employers don’t realise that their policies and procedures are discriminatory. A review & update of them is more cost effective than an expensive tribunal.

For a confidential discussion, contact one of our team.

Victimisation

If someone makes a complaint under the Equality Act, or is about to, and they get badly treated at work, that is victimisation.

Check your policies and see if this is covered, and also well communicated throughout your business. If you’re still unsure, call our team for expert advice.

Bullying

It’s a lonely place when a person is bullied, not only does it affect their self esteem but their productivity too. It’s important to demonstrate bullying is not acceptable in your company culture. If you’re concerned, contact us for confidential advice.

Harassment

The definition of harassment is much broader then many people think. It is ‘unwanted conduct related to a relevant protected characteristic, which has the purpose or effect of violating an individual’s dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for that individual.’ Do check your policies to see if they are up to date or check with one of our team.
